I graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.A. in Journalism.  After working at a news station for a couple years, I realized Journalism was not the path for me.  I then moved to Japan where I taught English for 3 years.  I loved it there.  I loved teaching, I loved the culture, and I loved my new experiences.  In 2007 I moved back to America where I started teaching ESL at Sierra International College.  The students were adults and ages ranged from 18 to 64.  The focus was on grammar and modern-day colloquialism.  I stayed at this position for 4 years until the school started undergoing a managerial shift, and a major change in curriculum.  I decided I wanted to take my teaching career to the next step, and get my Multiple Subject credential.  I finished my teacher credential program at Cal State Teach with a 4.0, and completed 800 required hours of student teaching.  I substituted for a couple years with Direct Ed while completing the credential program and the student teaching hours in schools all over the Los Angeles area for K-12 grades.  I then landed my own 6th grade class at Today’s Fresh Start Chart School.  I continue to improve my teaching skills every day to help children become the best possible human beings for our future.
